Hong Kong International Literary Festival 2024
On March 9th, 2024, I was invited to participate in the Hong Kong International Literary Festival at the Fringe Club, Central, to act as a moderator and interview the Spanish bestseller author Manuel Vilas.
The Festival gathered international and local authors across multiple genres and organized talks and panels about different topics. In partnership with the Hong Kong bookstore Bookazine, they also set up a pop up store with books from all the participating authors.
The session with Manuel was bilingual in English and Spanish, and I asked him about his career as an author and the inspiration behind his book, Ordesa.
Throughout his career, Manuel has won multiple prestigious awards, including the prestigious Nadal Award in 2023 (Nosotros) and he was also the recipient of the second award of the Planeta Prize in 2019 (Alegria).
Manuel writes in the poetry and autobiography genres, and his writing is inspired by his life events and experiences.
