Inclusive Habits Masterclass for AIA Asia Pacific
In March 2025, I had the privilege of delivering a session on inclusive habits for AIA, the largest insurance company in Hong Kong.
The 90-minute Masterclass was attended by 400 employees from Hong Kong, South East Asia, Sri Lanka, China, Australia and New Zealand among others and focused on 3 pillars:
- The science behind habits: how habits are formed using the trigger – action – reward model.
We looked at personal habits, how good and bad and how you can use this mechanism to create new healthy habits or reinforce existing ones.
- Creating good habits: how to set you up for success to be at your 100% and protect your wellbeing.
We did a self-awareness exercise to understand what each individual needs to be at their best physically and emotionally.
The participants shared their own personal challenges and best practices to overcome barriers and implement good habits such as sleep, reading, journaling and exercising.
- Creating inclusive habits: how to create and maintain inclusive habits in the workplace to foster a culture of inclusion and belonging.
We brainstormed on best practices when it comes to inclusive habits at work, from remembering people’s names to listening, ensuring accessible meetings and considering people’s food preferences among others.
I shared a framework to help participants have a methodology to approach habits:
C: Connect
U: Unlearn
L: Listen
T: Thank
U: Understand
R: Reframe
E: Educate
We wrapped up the session with an activity to bring the content to practice using the framework of Trigger – Action – Reward to create inclusive habits at work.
The Masterclasses on Inclusive Habits was done in partnership with the HR team at the Corporate Office of AIA in Hong Kong.
