Speaker for 2026 International Women’s Day for AIA Group: The Power of Giving

Masterclass for AIA Asia: The Power of Giving

In March 2026, I had the privilege of hosting a Masterclass for AIA, Asia’s largest insurance company, on th International Women’s Day. Over 200 participants joined from 18 markets across the Asia Pacific region, creating a truly regional conversation on leadership and inclusion.

The session, titled The Power of Giving: Small Everyday Actions That Help Teams Thrive, focused on how intentional, everyday acts of generosity can transform team dynamics, boost performance, and create more inclusive workplaces. As a public speaker and expert in high-performance inclusive leadership across Asia Pacific, I design sessions like this to deliver both science-backed insights and immediately actionable strategies—perfect for organisations seeking a DEI speaker or women empowerment speaker who delivers real results.

The Neuroscience Behind Giving: Why It Feels So Good

We began by exploring the brain’s reward system and the phenomenon known as the **“Helper’s High.”** When we give—whether time, support, recognition or help—our brains release a powerful mix of oxytocin (the bonding hormone), dopamine (the reward chemical), endorphins and serotonin. This biological boost explains why consistent givers report higher energy, stronger relationships and greater well-being at work. Participants were fascinated to learn that giving isn’t just altruistic; it’s a proven performance enhancer for individuals and teams alike.

Inspired by Adam Grant: Are You a Giver, Matcher or Taker?

Drawing on Adam Grant’s groundbreaking research in Give and Take, we conducted a quick self-assessment. Are you a:

  1. Giver (who helps others without expecting immediate return)
  2. Matcher (who operates on fair exchange) or
  3. Taker(who focuses primarily on self-interest)

The data is clear: organisations and individuals who cultivate consistent giving behaviours experience stronger collaboration, higher innovation and better long-term career growth. In the competitive Asia Pacific insurance landscape, where cross-market teams must work seamlessly, shifting toward a giving mindset creates the psychological safety and trust essential for high-performing, inclusive cultures.

Apple-Inspired Best Practices: Small Actions, Big Ripple Effects

We then examined proven workplace habits from Apple and others, showing how tiny, repeatable actions compound into powerful cultural shifts. Participants explored and committed to these inclusive daily practices:

– Active listening: truly hearing colleagues without interruption
– Genuine compliments: recognising effort and strengths publicly
– Making time to connect: building personal rapport beyond tasks
– Using positive language: framing feedback constructively
– Feedback as a daily habit:  regular, kind and specific input
– Offering help and support: stepping in proactively
– Celebrating and recognising: marking wins, big and small

Above all, the key message was simple yet impactful: the goal is to make people feel heard, respected and valued. These behaviours are core to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion because they level the playing field for all, particularly under-privileged groups, amplify underrepresented voices and create environments where everyone—especially women leaders—can rise.

Participants Leave with Personal Commitments

The session was highly interactive. Attendees shared real-world examples, reflected on their own reciprocity styles and made concrete commitments—even if just five minutes a day—to embed giving into their routines. People left not just inspired but equipped with practical tools they could implement immediately across their 18 Asia Pacific markets.

As a public speaker specialising in inclusive leadership, cultural agility and women empowerment  I’m continually reminded that the most powerful change happens through small, consistent actions.

Giving cultures are winning cultures.

If your organisation in Hong Kong, Singapore or anywhere across Asia Pacific is planning an International Women’s Day event, a DEI workshop, a keynote on inclusive leadership or a women empowerment session, I’d love to partner with you. My science-backed, interactive and highly practical style consistently receives outstanding feedback and drives lasting behavioural change.
