Keynote Speaker for S&P Global on Inclusive Language

Keynote Speaker for S&P Global

On March 13th, I delivered a session on Inclusive Language for S&P Global in their Hong Kong office.

The session was part of their International Women’s Day initiative and was organized by their Women’s Initiative for Networking & Success committee (WINS).

The Keynote was a hybrid, with over 150 participants across Asia-Pacific, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. The Hong Kong team joined in person while the rest of the employees attended online.

Chris Lee, Regional Practice Lead of S&P Asia Pacific did the opening remarks.

I talked about the power of language as a catalyst to drive inclusion and why it matters.

The 60-minute presentation focused on 3 key parts:

  • What is inclusive language
  • Why it matters to individuals, organizations and society
  • How: 3 principles to speak an inclusive language

I shared personal stories, case studies and best practices to show the impact words have on employees, stakeholders, consumers, organizations and ultimately society as a whole.

I used Slido to engage the audience with polls, word clouds, and a Q&A from the audience, followed the presentation.

As part of the initiative and to boos participation, S&P hosted a lucky draw with my new book with Penguin Random House, The Anti-Procrastinator.
