Public Speaker at the HeyLady community
In July 2025, I hosted a webinar for the global community, Hey Lady!
Hey Lady! is an online platform that promotes English fluency among women for whom English is a second language. The community has hundreds of members, and they meet regularly to discuss various topics to help the members gain confidence to speak in public in English to further their career and their personal development. They often invite public speakers to talk about various topics relevant to the members.
One of Hey Lady’s initiatives is a book club. Each month, they select a book and meet online to discuss it as a group. In June, they chose my first book, The Lemon Tree Mindset and I was invited to join them in July for a live session with the members to talk about the book, my journey as an author and how I applied a growth mindset to start a new career as a writer, author and public speaker as a non-native English speaker.
The session was moderated by the Founder of HeyLady, Emma Jakobi and we talked about various topics related to growth mindset, from how to overcome mental barriers and remove limiting beliefs to embracing your identity, your personality and your accent! Emma is an advocate of linguistic inclusion and has built a strong presence on Instagram, where she was over 130,000 followers.
The webinar is now avalable in the HeyLady Youtube channel where they have 100,000 subscribers.
