Cultural Agility: A Keynote for Bio-Rad APAC
In October 2024, I was the Guest Speaker for BioRad during their APAC DE&I day on the topic of culture and cultural agility. The event gathered over 600 employees across Asia-Pacific, from Australia to China, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and more.
The DE&I Team hosted the virtual event in which senior leaders from the organization talked about the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion as key values of BioRad.
During my session, I focused on culture and how to develop cultural agility in an effective way. These were the topics covered:
- Culture deep-dive with the Cultural Iceberg Model
- Unconscious bias: understand why and how it impacts our thinking and behavior
- Cultural agility: the software (cultural humility) and the hardware (cultural agility)
- Toolkit for cultural agility: actionable behaviors with examples to help implement the learnings of the session
The session was delivered online with polls and word clouds via Slido to engage the audience and encourage participation and self-reflection on cultural agility.
