Cultural Agility: Your Competitive Advantage in the Workplace
In November 2024, I was invited to be Alteryx‘s Keynote Speaker on the topic of Cultural Agility during their Week of Understanding, an annual week dedicated to initiatives aimed at promoting inclusion and equity in the workplace.
I hosted 2 separate sessions for the EMEA and APAC teams.
The webinars were 60-minute sessions delivered online and focused on culture and how to turn our cultural differences into bridges with cultural agility and soft skills such as empathy, active listening, humility and others.
The key topics during the session were:
- Culture and the cultural iceberg: understand the complexity underneath cultural identities
- Unconscious bias and deep dive into 3 types of biases: affinity bias, cultural bias and halo/ horn effect
- Cultural mapping: impact of our culture on the way we behave, lead, communicate, give feedback and operate in the workplace
- Cultural agility toolkit: a specific framework with actionable behaviors to develop cultural agility
The session engaged the participants through polls and word clouds on Slido and we wrapped up the webinar with sharing from the participants regarding their experience with cultural agility.
