DEI Speaker: Panelist at the DEI Summit in Hong Kong
On 22 January 2025, I had the honor of participating as a DEI speaker in the South China Morning Post (SCMP) DEI Summit in Hong Kong. Sponsored by Manulife, the annual event is the largest DEI Summit in Asia and gathered hundreds of participants both in person and online.
The event convened industry leaders, innovators, and advocates to chart a course toward a more inclusive, resilient, and equitable future in the region. In a time of unprecedented societal and technological change, this summit is an opportunity to tackle the challenges with a commitment to holistic inclusion and diversity.
This year’s theme was “Shaping Inclusive Growth in Asia” and explored key issues in equity, inclusive education, climate resilience, and diversity leadership. SCMP brought together thought leaders, C-level executives, Heads of People, DEI practitioners, the non-for profit and advocates to discuss topics such as gender equality, climate action, and corporate responsibility.
I was invited to join an expert panel as a DEI speaker on the topic of intergenerational workplaces and how to create inclusive work environments that welcome and include all generations. The panel was moderated by Matthew Gallop, Managing Director of ConnectedGroup and the participants were Richard Hall, Managing Director of Citibus Hong Kong and Joy JingHui Xu, Group Chief People and Culture of DFI Group.
During the session, we discussed the importance of changing the mindset to remove stereotypes about age and speak in an inclusive way. We addressed topics such as intergenerational interventions, best practices and opportunities to leverage technology as an enabler.
